Cell is a peer-reviewed scientific journal which covers research in any area of experimental biology that is deemed significant outside its field. Areas covered include molecular biology, genetics, structural biology, biochemistry, cell biology, development, neurobiology and immunology in animals, plants, microbes, and viruses. The journal was established in 1974 by Benjamin Lewin[1] and is published twice monthly by Cell Press, a division of Elsevier, from editorial offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States.

Cell had a 2009 impact factor of 31.152, which makes it one of the most cited scientific journals. According to ScienceWatch, the journal was ranked third in the “Molecular Biology and Genetics” category over 1999–2004, after only Science and Nature, with an average of 72 citations per paper.

创刊于1976年、由美国细胞出版社出版发行的同行评审科学期刊《细胞》，是一份与《科学》、《自然》齐名的世界权威杂志，是生命科学研究领域的顶尖杂志。期刊主要发表实验生物学领域的原创研究论文，对整个生物学医学领域具有重要影响，许多生命科学领域最重要的发现都发表在其上。从1974年迄今的30多年间，细胞出版社社旗下期刊共发表了59篇诺贝尔奖获得者的论文，其中10篇论文为作者的获奖论文，包括2004年诺贝尔医学与生理学奖和诺贝尔化学奖的获奖论文。 经过30多年的发展，《细胞》在国际学术界的影响已可与有着百年历史的《科学》和《自然》媲美。据SCI统计数据，三份期刊的2006年影响因子分别为：29.194、30.028和26.681。
