巴西的厄运金属团Silent Cry 于1993年成立。最初成员为：Jefferson Guimaraes(Drums, Vocals)、 Dilpho Castro (Guitars and vocals)、Cristiano Jarbas (Bass guitar)和Antonio Mattos (Keyboard)。可是不久之后，Cristiano离开了团队，由Jaderson Vitorino替代他的位置。同一年，乐队发行了首张DEMO “Tanatofilo, opulente plenilunio”。这张DEMO为乐队打开了许多扇通向未来的门。1995年Cassio Brandi (Guitar)和Suelly Ribeiro (Vocals)被邀请加入silent cry，为团队注入了新的活力与机遇。
1996年，乐团依靠这个新的阵容录制了一张唱片，本想让其成为乐团的第一张正式CD。但是出版公司Sao Paulo’s record label的工作非常拖拉，如果交给他们，这张专辑要直到第二年才会被发行。乐团打算将这张唱片自行发行为第二张DEMO，冠名”Tears of serenity”。此张小样在巴西受到广泛好评。
在”Tears of serenity”发行之前，Jefferson Guimaraes不得不离开团队，搬去美国波士顿。后来他在那里创建了一个名叫”My Threnody”的交响黑暗厄运金属团ILENT CRY尝试了许多鼓手，最后于1998年初邀请了鼓Ricardo Meireles加入乐团。而键盘手的位置也由Bruno Selmer替代了Antonio mattos。以这一全新的面孔，SILENT CRY与the Demise Records签约。
1999年乐团发行了第一张正式专辑，”Rembrance”。通过这张CD，乐团引起了地下音乐界的关注，并在其中占据了一席之地。2000年，与”Remembrance”保持连冠性的第二张CD――”Goddess of tears”发行。
2001年初，乐团经历了一段困难时期。主唱Suelly Ribeiro由于居住的城市与乐队基地距离太远而不得不退出。不久后，Ana Marcia受邀加入团队。而在此同时，Ricardo Meireles也离去了。更糟糕的是，与SILENT CRY经历了多年风雨的最初成员之一，Cassio Brandi (Guitars)也宣布了离去的决定。但乐团并没有被困难绊住前行的脚步。在只有一把吉他，一个新鼓手和一个新主唱的情况下，SILENT CRY继续向世界展示他们的才华。第三张CD，――一个包括五首歌曲的EP，”Shades of The Last Way”问世。这也是乐队在Demise Records旗下发行的最后一张专辑。2002年11月，一张全新的CD “Dance of Shadows”出世，此时，乐队已创立了自己的厂牌，――Avernus records。
2003年底，参与过Remembrance和Goddess of Tears录制的鼓手Ricardo Meireles回归乐团。Flavio Junior由于搬出了乐团所在的城市而不得不离开。乐团有意吸纳合作多次的键盘Philipe。
